eBusiness Booming on Web

Ecommerce broke $65 million dollars in online retail spending last year, according to comScore.com. Another year of significant online growth gives eager students just one more reason to get into ecommerce.

eBusiness Growth

Money spent online continues to increase each year. In 2004, online spending jumped 26 percent from the previous year, which had grown by a similar margin the year before. Interestingly, the growth in online spending was driven by increased transactions per user--not an increased number of users. Data further suggest that 75 percent of online shoppers who are familiar and comfortable with ecommerce are more willing to visit new Web sites for products. It seems a significant opportunity for ebusiness is just a few clicks away.

Consumer Concerns with eCommerce Web Sites

There are some challenges to getting into ecommerce with a Web site for your ebusiness. One of the big consumer concerns is with online security and protection for credit card numbers. Another concern with ebusinesses is their ability to offer reasonable shipping and handling fees. ComScore also found that people are doing more price shopping and visiting more Web sites, a sure sign ecommerce competition is brewing.

Distance Learning Degree in eBusiness

As the Internet continues to grow, a degree in ebusiness makes a lot of sense. A distance learning degree can help you get into the swing of the online world. Distance learning degrees offer coursework on a flexible schedule, allowing you to continue your current career while preparing for your next one in the ebusiness world. The future for an ebusiness looks bright, and with a distance learning degree in hand, you may yet find the right ecommerce niche for ebusiness success.
