Virtual Learning in Computer Animation Brings Real Animation Jobs

In the futuristic 1982 movie Blade Runner the replicants, or robots, were "more human than human." Computer animation today is so advanced that this science fiction has become fact. The success of the Disney/Pixar animation The Incredibles demonstrates our ongoing fondness for the fictional. But the fact is, time spent pursuing an online degree at animation school will ensure a bright future.

Computer Animation Changed Disney Animation - and Everything Else

I love computer animation and I love the movies. Watching the Disney Pixar Animation The Incredibles with my children probably rated in my top ten cinema experiences. As a movie-lover, I don't always approve of how computer animation is used in live-action movies, or how often, but one thing for sure is that it is here to stay. Neither live-action movies, nor Disney animation, will ever be the same again.

Animation Jobs

Animation Jobs come in all shapes and sizes. Computer Animation is not only used for entertainment. 3D computer animation and modeling has empowered organizations to use computer animation for good - in medicine, training, health and safety and news casting.

With this is mind; there is a wealth of industries offering in-house and outsourced animation jobs when you are through with animation school. Many start their animation career with jobs in multimedia companies, moving later to freelance animation jobs to fit in with changing lifestyles.

Animation Schools

Animation schools offer online degrees and campus-based programs. You may be fresh from high school, or already working in IT or design, but the growing number of animation schools means each individual should find the right online, or traditional degree. Computer animation programs will combine traditional animation skills - such as storyboarding and characterization, with computer design training.


After watching The Incredibles, my five and seven year olds decided to become superheroes. I would never say so, but I hope they choose animation jobs instead - better future.
