Get into the Online "FastLane" With an MBA

GM car and truck lovers have found an online home at GM's FastLane Blog. Vice-Chairman Bob Lutz started off with an MBA degree and jumped into a car career back in September 1963. He's been in the "FastLane" ever since.

GM: Plenty to Blog About

GM's FastLane Blog maintains an online conversation geared toward what consumers and not investors want to talk about. An MBA-holder, Lutz has helped to pioneer a blog that has grabbed everyone's attention. GM uses the blog as a tool to make product announcements and to create a two-way discussion with their consumers. Part of what is remarkable about the FastLane Blog is that GM allows both proponents and detractors of their company to post their comments.

Plugged In and Online

While many people have used blogs as to talk about their passion for cats or their love lives, Lutz and GM use it to announce things like having a single global design and an engineering budget starting January 1. They also use it for subtle announcements, such as the development of a new midsize-car architecture to replace Opel Vectra, Chevy Malibu, Pontiac G6, and Saab 9-3. It's a fabulous way to make their consumers feel like they're in-the-know and to get them excited about GM products.

Going the Distance: Learning and an MBA

If you are interested in following Lutz's innovative footsteps, pursuing distance learning to get an MBA will give you the management skills to run a company. The beauty of an online degree is that you'll be earning your MBA in a forum that continues to grow and expand its business potential, as seen with the FastLane Blog. Distance learning also gives you schedule flexibility while earning your MBA.

GM and Vice-Chairman Lutz have definitely gone the distance with their blogging, and doing online learning for your MBA could help you go the distance in your business career desires.
