Fitness Training for Mind, Body, Spirit

Personal fitness trainer Bob Greene helped Oprah Winfrey achieve a 90-pound weight loss and continues to help millions with his books. Using proper exercise techniques and nutrition is only half the equation for this fitness expert. Winfrey and Greene both believe that finding the emotional connection to fuel healthy weight loss and a healthy mind is a critical component.

Fitness Training for Life

Winfrey, like anyone struggling with weight, needed more than the old eat well/exercise rhetoric in order to understand her struggle. Fortunately for her, and for millions of Americans, Greene illuminated the fact that psychological balance is part of the personal fitness trainer job description. Greene raised the bar for those pursuing personal trainer certification. As he and Winfrey discuss in their book, Make the Connection, fitness training means conditioning the mind and spirit, as well as the body.

Becoming a Personal Fitness Trainer

Greene always cared about nutrition and exercise, but not just for cosmetic reasons. He began pursuing his personal trainer certification because he fundamentally believed that being physically healthy equates to greater happiness. His success as a personal fitness trainer is directly related to this belief. He also knew that before he could help anyone, let alone Winfrey, he needed strong fitness instructor training and a background in nutrition that would help him reach his career goals.

Fitness Instructor Training Steps

Greene began with a vision of helping people and took the necessary educational steps to follow through with his fitness training dream. Studying physical education and exercise physiology, Bob created a base of knowledge that led to a degree and personal trainer certification. He is now the author of several books, an accomplished personal fitness trainer, and best of all, great friends with our beloved Oprah Winfrey. A little fitness training and a good emotional workout can go a long way!
