Get Back to Business with Online Degree BenefitsYour military benefits can help make online education affordable. The military normally pays for a prearranged amount of a soldier's education in exchange for service in the armed forces. Many schools also offer special military tuition allowances that make it more cost-effective for military personnel to get an online degree.
Soldiers' spouses and children can also reap from military benefits and achieve their educational goals. According to Darrel Hanbury, Director of Admissions at Virginia College Online, "Many schools also extend our military tuition allowance to the immediate family members of active duty military. This enables students to begin or continue their education, regardless of where the family might be stationed in the world."
Online Education is Booming
Online enrollment is on the rise. According to an estimate made by the Boston-based market research firm, Eduventures, by early 2008, one out of every 10 college students will be enrolled in an online degree program. The numbers are expected to grow with public schools driving the growth offering quality education at affordable prices and attracting the nontraditional student body: online students who live out of state.
It's important for those stationed in the military or their families to continue becoming educated no matter where they're stationed. Most schools that offer online degrees work with servicemen who do not have the convenience of planning their schedules around on-campus classes and commuting. Whether you're looking for a certificate, an associate's degree, a bachelor's degree, or a business degree, there are several programs available that will meet your goals. Complete a distance learning degree in today's hottest industries on your own time and halfway around the world.
