Launch a Career in NASA With an MBA

NASA Administrator Michael Griffin holds an MBA degree along with his engineering degrees. His vigilance over NASA includes the much-discussed Discovery mission.

Presidential Lift-Off

Michael Griffin started as the 11th Administrator of NASA on April 14, 2005, after being nominated by President Bush and confirmed by the Senate. With an MBA degree, Griffin oversees and manages the many different programs going on in NASA, including Deep Impact and the Discovery space ship's current mission.

Continuing to Boldly Go. . .

Discovery's mission is a 12-day flight to deliver equipment and supplies to the International Space Station. The mission is called STS-114, and it has gotten a lot of attention as the first space flight to occur since the Shuttle Columbia tragedy in 2003. The Return to Flight mission will feature Crewmembers Steve Robinson and Soichi Noguchi venturing outside on three spacewalks, and this space trip will continue NASA's space education and hopefully help keep the space exploration program online, which had been put in doubt since the Columbia crash.

Discovery's Mission Objectives

The mission has three main objectives:
  • Demonstrate repair techniques on the shuttle
  • Replace a failed Control Moment Gyroscope on the International Space Station
  • Install an External Stowage Platform on the station

MBA Degree and the Return to School

While Griffin is firmly rooted on the ground, his work and the work of other NASA Administrators before him are integral to space exploration. An MBA degree like Griffin's can help you be involved with an exciting organization like NASA. Continuing your education online is a great way to earn an MBA degree. By continuing your education online, you can fit your schooling to your schedule, making it much easier to continue working full-time and doing your schoolwork on your own time. With your MBA degree, you may one day manage an amazing organization like NASA.
