Psychology--A Road toward Discovering the Human Purpose

The study of psychology led Margaret Anand on a path of self-discovery that eventually brought her to the art of Tantra, a spiritual practice. Like Anand, psychology students can gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them by studying the human mind and its motivating forces.

The San Francisco Chronicle recently interviewed Margaret Anand, one of the leading practitioners of Tantra--a discipline that strives to find spiritual awakening through sexuality. Anand has written a number of books about Tantra. Before Anand discovered Tantra as a way of life, she was enrolled in a psychology degree program at the Sorbonne in Paris. According to Anand, studying psychology led her to look more deeply at herself and to look for ways to fulfill her life purpose.

Psychology Degree Program: What can It Do for You?

If you want to better understand the human condition and learn more about the wonders of the human mind, you may want to enroll in a psychology degree program. Psychology degree programs are offered at all degree levels, but practicing psychologists must typically complete a doctoral degree program before helping clients.

Earn an Online Degree in Psychology

If you currently work full-time but want to study psychology, consider an online degree. Getting the education you need change careers takes money, and most people find it too expensive to leave their jobs and go back to school full-time. Online degrees enable students to get the credentials they need gradually, without going into a lot of debt.

A number of reputable distance learning schools offer online degree programs in psychology. Search online to find the one that's best for you. And no, typing in the word "Tantra" probably won't help you find the right psychology degree program.
